Description
Supporting Little Tummies – A Reflexology Routine for Baby Tummy Relief from The Reflexology Mummy (Lizzie)
If your little one is struggling with trapped wind, constipation, or general tummy discomfort, as a Mummy, I get it—I’ve been there. This gentle reflexology routine was something I used with my own daughter when her tummy was unsettled and (alongside our western medicine). It became part of our routine together, and honestly, I’m still not sure whether it was the touch, the routine, or the distraction… but it helped. A lot! I’ve also since been told by other parents that it can help too.
This easy-to-follow routine focuses on reflex points linked to digestion, gas relief, and calming the nervous system—offering a supportive, natural way to help ease tummy tension and bring a little more comfort to your baby (and you!).
While I can’t promise results (and wouldn’t want to), many parents find this kind of touch-based routine useful for:
-
Supporting digestion to get moving again (hello poops!)
-
Easing tummy tension or trapped wind
-
Creating a calming, bonding ritual
-
Helping with overall relaxation and better sleep (for us all)
Why Reflexology Can Help Little Tummies
Reflexology is a gentle therapy that works by applying light pressure to specific points on the feet. These points are believed to link to different areas of the body—including the digestive system.
Babies are especially responsive to touch, and this routine focuses on areas connected with the stomach, intestines, solar plexus (which relates to calm and balance), and more. It’s simple, soothing, and doesn’t require anything but your hands and a few quiet minutes.
I’ve created this with other parents in mind—those moments where you just want to do something when your baby is uncomfortable. It’s not a cure, but it’s a tool that helped me feel more connected, more confident, and sometimes… it just worked (we still don’t quite know how/why reflexology works).
